ARTIST STATEMENT
Although I have much more experience in oils and acrylics, I find watercolor painting to be more fun and at the same time more challenging. Rarely does my finished watercolor turn out to be exactly what I had in mind when I start a painting. Sometimes I am at the mercy of the way the watercolor flows, unlike oils and acrylics where I have much more control of the paint. In this way, the watercolor medium seems to be a metaphor for life - not always what we had planned, but still ends up being a beautiful picture.
I enjoy painting all types of subject matter from golf scenes, landscapes, seascapes, snow scenes and more. I have developed my own personal techniques which may vary from painting to painting. Scenes of nature consistently inspire me to may make beautiful paintings. Sometimes it may be a tree or group of trees, flowers, clouds, sunsets and sunrises, beaches, mountains, animals and even people.
I Love to paint scenes that recall experiences from a long life full of adventures. Part of my enjoyment comes from sharing them with others. I hope my paintings bring you a sense of joy.
